Exhibition, Events and Headshots

I have been really busy over the past couple of months which is why this 'My Week' concept is slowly turning into 'My 6 Months'. None the less, here's what I've been up to...

For those of you that follow my Facebook Page, you will know that a few weeks ago (Wednesday the 12th October)  my Uni class and I held our first class Exhibition called 'Type 22'. Our lovely lecturer Claire hit us with a brief where we needed to shoot, organise and print an exhibition all in the space of 4 weeks. As you can imagine, it was quite the way to welcome us on our second day of Uni.

After a few days of panic and tears, we began to get somewhere. This eventually turned into a successful Exhibition held at 'The New Glasgow Society' featuring 22 different Typology Projects. (typology is a study of types). Below are a few pictures of the day/night and hanging day.

 'The Big Light'

Have you ever lay on your floor staring straight up at the ceiling contemplating life whilst wondering if your photography degree was really going to be worth it?

I have, which is where this project comes to life. After hitting a creative mind block, my brother walked into the room and turned the light bulb on.

Care's Got Talent!

This will have been the second event I have covered in collaboration with G41 Events, this time for Who Care's? Scotland.

This events celebrates the talents and achievements of Scotland’s care experienced people. It was an absolute privilege to have been a part of this event.

My Creative CV

Another brief we had at the start of Uni was to create an updated CV. The last CV I made was 4 years ago when I was applying for part time work over Christmas at Tk Maxx. I got the job, but not because of my CV, instead because of the people I knew within the company.

As someone who has a future (hopefully) mapped out in the creative industry, it seemed like a good idea to create a cv that stood out a bit from the usual A4 sheet of paper with bullet points on it. Below is what I have came up with so far...

Over the past year I have found myself doing more and more headshots for students, actors and musicians. Last month I photographed two lovely people called Rachel and Max. Below are a few of the photos we got from the shoots.

To this day headshots are still my favourite thing to shoot, so if your an actor or musician, or anyone for that matter, looking or some headshots, give me a shout.

Below are a few photos from Lauren's 21st and Maureen and Joe's 25th wedding anniversary. I have to say, getting invited to all these parties is just a bonus to being a photographer ;) I'd say that events photography is something I am continuing to get better at whilst, more importantly, enjoying every second of it.

Other bits and bobs

A few days ago I shot my second wedding and I can't wait to be able to show you all the photos. This month I also shot new staff photos for the brand new Tk maxx store in Port Glasgow. There is always a lot going on and I will try my best to keep you all updated.

Till next time,

Cheers! Matthew
